Samsung NC20 Hits Ukraine Review Site

After leaked manuals and lots o’ rumors, the 12-inch not-quite-a-netbook Samsung NC20 has popped up not only in the wild, but in the hands of a few very lucky Ukrainian reviewers. Ukrainian site Gagadget scored a Via Nano powered Samsung NC20 and put it through quite a bit of testing.

Seems that the chassis looks the part of the NC10’s big brother with a similar white matte design. The bigger screen has made room for a larger keyboard, the site reports.

Intel may have some real competition on its hands from Via in terms of performance. The 1.6GHz Via Nano U2250 platform coupled with Windows XP provided some decent performance scores. On 3DMark06 it notched 138 which is higher than most Atom systems we have tested (the review doesn’t compare to Atom systems, but oddly to Core i7 scores).

Where Via may lose to Intel is in battery life; the reviewers report that the six cell system lasted “251 minutes – standard test of the regime of reading into Battery Of eater with average the intensity level.” That is a little more than four hours.

Check out the translated version of the review. We can only hope that the U.S. will see the appearence of the NC20 soon and we get to put this baby through the paces
