HP launched High Court Website

All district courts of Himachal Pradesh got connected with HP High Court, when Justice R B Misra, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court, launched a website http:/hphighcourt.nic.in at the High Court here.

Judges of HP High Court, Justiced Deepak Gupta, Surjit Singh, Dev Darshan Sud, V K Ahuja, Surinder Singh, Sanjay Karol, Kuldip Singh and Rajiv Sharma were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Speaking on this occasion, Justice Misra said that the website would enable the litigant public and advocates to have an access of cause list of each Court and every judicial Officer in the district headquarters and also help to know the listing of their cases from anywhere in the country and abroad. He added that the website of each district court contains the necessary information about the judicial officers present and their predecessors and also the designation and contact numbers of Public Information officers and appellate authority under RTI.

Justice Misra informed that the first phase towards the building of e-judiciary was complete. He said that subordinate judiciary had already been provided with the computers while the judicial officers were given the laptops.

He said that the judicial officers and staff had been imparted computer training in the State Judicial Academy with the help of senior NIC Officers.

He further said that the court was trying to put on the website the status of each case precise mini orders from the date of filing and the recording of the statements through video conferencing till its final judgment, electronically. He said that with the introduction of the digital signatures, the people would be able to get the copies of judgments and orders anywhere and at any place.

He added that efforts were being made to start e-Courts where the plaint, written statement and evidence shall be submitted and recorded through electronic media and the parties would get the e-judgments. He said that by the implementation of information and technology and skills, the courts propose to control the mounting arrears of cases and long delays and the people would get justice at their door step in shortest possible time.
